At SDI Partners we are mathematicians, computer scientists, statisticians, and engineers.
We research and develop automated AI trading systems and algorithms using advanced mathematical techniques.
We have built one of the world's most sophisticated trading/computing environments, and our researchers are at the forefront of innovation in the world of algorithmic trading.
Our founding partners first conceptualised SDI while working in the city of London and noticing how the earliest adopters of artificial intelligence and supercomputing were beginning to outperform the pack in the quantitative investment management world.
SDI Partners was then formed in the second half of 2022 as a commodity options trading outfit, offering fund management services to private investors. A little over a year later, in 2024, we began offering our services to the public as a
multi-asset class options trading firm and market maker.
SDI is an acronym that stands for Seder Digital Intelligence. Seder is a Hebrew word that translates to order, referring to a structured method of learning, emphasising clear sequences and methodologies to enhance understanding and retention of knowledge.
This encapsulates the quantitative investment strategy we excel in today, built up primarily around machine learning and artificial intelligence.
We are proud of what we have accomplished since inception but even more excited for what lies ahead of us.
As we continue to build, access new markets, and create new strategies, we believe the majority of our growth profile is still ahead of us.
SDI's founding partners graduated from Oxford, UCL, and MIT with degrees in computer science and mathematics and founded SDI in 2022. Armed with programming skills and sharp quantitative minds, they hypothesised that by harnessing the emerging powers of technology, they could outperform the markets. Very quickly their algorithms saw success in the markets, and SDI grew from its origins in commodities to a global, multi-asset class trading firm.
Today SDI employs over 150 brilliant minds from a variety of mathematical, scientific, technical, and quantitative disciplines. We trade on nearly all of the world's electronic markets and are a leading force in the utilisation of artificial intelligence in the quant investment management industry.
The marketplace is constantly shifting, and as a young company with a focused management team, we are quick to adapt and even lead the changes. Our track record shows that we are successful in low-volatility conditions and excel during times of high volatility. With many more untapped assets, strategies, and markets to trade, SDI's global expansion is only just beginning.
SDI's core business is options trading, and we are one of the largest emerging options market participants globally.
We actively trade options on major currencies, commodities, cryptocurrencies, and equities on exchanges around the world.
Momentum and technical patterns provide a base for machine learning and predictive techniques on fundamental regimes to risk weight each trade we make.
Our in-house supercomputers, capable of 200 quadrillion calculations per second, analyse millions of data points continuously and enable our proprietary trading algorithms to execute trades at optimal pricing, aiming to profit from short-term momentum and volatility while forecasting price movements with greater accuracy and mitigating risk to provide for high trading returns.
We make use of a combination of deep learning, supervised learning, and reinforcement learning algorithms for trading.
Our trading algorithms have different in-built strategy “wizards” that analyse market conditions, compare previous trading patterns in similar scenarios during the past 20 years of data, and combine everything in one single software.
During the non-stop analytics, research, and optimisation process, all new movements and patterns are stored to be used in upcoming scenarios, helping solve future market situations. With deep reinforcement learning, our systems can constantly learn and develop meaningful trading decisions.
We act as market makers and liquidity providers, standing ready to buy and sell a wide range of equity, commodity, FX, and fixed income products in order to generate profit through the bid-ask spread.
We build bridges between supply and demand, across space and time, to make the world's financial markets more efficient, stable, and transparent.
At SDI, risk management and control are in our DNA and are built into our financial and
operational processes. Our dedicated team of risk and control professionals ensures we are operating
in accordance with the strict investment regulatory guidelines aimed at capital preservation and safety
against loss. It is for this reason individual investors entrust us with their capital, and we are trusted
to provide continuous prices for thousands of financial instruments on exchanges around the globe.
Partner funds are held with insured custodians and are segregated from our corporate activities, ensuring that our
partner funds are never subject to any risks related to our business operations.
We focus on four core risk and control domains: market risk, operational risk, automated trading risk, and compliance.
As of December 2024, exposure to both our investment offerings has been rated by independent auditors as safe and regulatory
compliant with a moderate risk profile.
Our ambition is to become and remain the best-performing investment management firm of all time. We strive to identify the most optimal uses of capital to generate sustainable above-market returns for professional investors who bank on us around the world.
Innovation and technology are at the forefront of what we do. Our people are relentless in seeking a better path. Each day, we refine and reconstruct our strategies, models, and technology in pursuit of superior results and sustained long-term outperformance.
David Rosenberg, Andrew Katz, and Amit Iyer are the managing partners at SDI and are closely involved in the day-to-day operations of the firm. David is the head of trading and focuses on the firm's growth into new markets and asset classes, Andrew is our head of technology and leads the development and maintenance of the technology that keeps us ahead of the pack, and Amit is our head algorithmic engineer, dedicated to developing SDI's cutting-edge trading and market-making algorithms.
